MKT 229 Module Six Peer Review Guidelines and Rubric
Prompt: Create a draft of Final Project Section III (Strategies and Tactics) and post it for peer review and feedback. In your draft, list three to five key strategies
across different marketing channels. (Note that your strategies should be in bulleted format.) You should also take the time to briefly discuss the tactics that will
support your selected strategies. The submission should also include how your recommended tactics will be applied for maximizing marketing opportunities.
Respond to at least two of your peers. In your responses, provide meaningful, tactful, and specific feedback. Review this brief video to help guide your feedback:
Peer Review Best Practices. What did your peers do well? What can they improve? Is there anything missing? Be sure to also respond professionally to the
feedback you receive on your submission.
Note: Use the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document (in the Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics section of the course) to guide your feedback.
Guidelines for Giving and Receiving Feedback: The cornerstone of a successful peer review is an environment of trust and respect. As a reviewer, you will
provide specific and meaningful feedback. The overarching goal of peer feedback is to help each student to achieve his or her own goals.
As you provide feedback, keep the following in mind:
 Take the time to review your peers’ work thoroughly.
ï‚· You are critiquing the content and work, not the person. Your goal is to help your peers achieve their goals. Carefully review the Final Project Rubric
before providing your feedback.
ï‚· The peer review should start with the strengths. What works and why? Provide concrete examples.
ï‚· Next, suggest areas for revision. Keep the tone positive and provide concrete suggestions for revision.
o Good Example: The marketing strategies you provided include strong examples of . I’m thinking that if you added it may help to improve
your work because .
o Bad Example: Your work is great!
As you read through the feedback you have received, keep the following in mind:
ï‚· Read the feedback carefully, avoiding any desire to defend your choices.
ï‚· If you are unclear about what the reviewer means, ask him or her to clarify.
ï‚· If you have any questions after hearing/reading the feedback, feel free to pose them to the group.
ï‚· Take special note of repeated commentary on the same issue. This may signify an area forimprovement.
 Thank the reviewers for their feedback. If some commentary was especially helpful, that’s useful information for the reviewer.
ï‚· Remember, it is your assignment. Your approach may be entirely different from how a peer might have approached the same topic. However, at the
same time, do not just dismiss suggestions.
