WCM 610 Small Group Discussion Guidelines and Rubric
Your active participation in the discussion topics is essential to your overall success this term. Discussion questions are designed to help you make meaningful
connections between the course content and the larger concepts and goals of the course. These discussions offer you the opportunity to express your own
thoughts, ask questions for clarification, and gain insight from your classmates’ responses and instructor’s guidance.
In Modules Four and Six, you will work with a small group of your classmates who have chosen the same case study to analyze for the final project.
In Module Four, you will work with your small group on your final project case study using the SIPOC diagram, which each student will complete. Work with your
group members to establish similarities and differences in your SIPOC diagrams, coming to an agreement over what the final version will include. Be sure that
one member of your group posts the final version to the small group discussion.
In Module Six, you will work with your small group on your final project case study using the Tuckman’s five-stage model of group development diagram, which
each student will complete. Work with your group members to identify and analyze each of the five stages of group development as it pertains to your final
project case study. Produce a final Tuckman’s model for your group. Be sure that one member of your group posts the final version to the small group
discussion.
Expectations for Postings
Initial Post:
ï‚· Compose a post of two to four paragraphs.
ï‚· Complete by Thursday at 11:59 p.m. of your local time zone.
ï‚· Considers material (course content, other discussions, etc.) from the current module and previous modules.
Response Posts:
